1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how KKJTech Multi Tools Hub ("KKJTech", "we", "us", or "our"), accessible at tools.kkjtech.com, handles information when you visit and use our platform.

KKJTech is a free, browser-based collection of digital tools — including PDF converters, image compressors, text utilities, calculators, and specialist tools for UK Armed Forces personnel. Our fundamental architecture is built around a privacy-first principle: all tool processing happens entirely within your web browser using JavaScript. No files, documents, or personal inputs are ever transmitted to our servers or any third-party server.

Plain language summary: When you use any KKJTech tool, your files and data never leave your device. We cannot see, access, store, or share the content you process through our tools because it is never sent to us in the first place.

By using KKJTech Multi Tools Hub, you agree to the practices described in this policy. This policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and we comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate and improve the website. We categorise this into two types:

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • The content of any files you process (PDFs, images, spreadsheets, documents)
  • Inputs you enter into calculator or converter tools
  • Military service details, salary figures, or financial information entered into our calculators
  • Any personally identifiable information from tool usage

Data That May Be Collected Automatically

  • IP address — collected transiently by our web server for security and abuse prevention; not stored or linked to individual identities
  • Browser type and version — used for compatibility improvements (e.g. via Google Analytics in aggregate form)
  • Operating system — used to optimise tool compatibility across platforms
  • Pages visited and time spent — aggregated page analytics to understand which tools are most used
  • Referring URL — to understand how users discover KKJTech
  • General geographic region — country/city-level only, derived from IP; never precise location

If you choose to contact us via our Contact page, we will collect the name and email address you voluntarily provide, used solely to respond to your enquiry. This information is never used for marketing or shared with third parties.

3. How Our Tools Process Your Data

This section is the most important part of this policy. Understanding it will give you full confidence in using KKJTech tools with sensitive documents.

All KKJTech tools are client-side applications. This means the tool's code (JavaScript) is downloaded to your browser when you visit the page and then executes entirely on your own device, using your device's CPU and memory. When you upload a file or enter data:

  • The file or data is loaded into your browser's memory (RAM) — it goes no further
  • JavaScript processes it locally — converting, compressing, calculating, or analysing as required
  • The output is generated in your browser and offered for download directly from your device
  • When you close or refresh the page, your browser's memory is cleared — nothing persists

Technical verification: You can confirm this yourself. Open your browser's developer tools (F12 in Chrome/Firefox → Network tab), then use any KKJTech tool. You will observe zero outbound network requests carrying your file or input data. The only outbound requests are standard page-load requests (CSS, fonts, scripts) which contain no user data.

This architecture applies to 100% of our processing tools — including all PDF converters, image tools, text utilities, and calculators such as the Armed Forces Pension Calculator, Salary Calculator, and Mortgage Calculator.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites. KKJTech uses a minimal, purposeful approach to cookies.

Cookie Type Purpose Duration Can Opt Out?
Essential Basic page functionality, security tokens Session No — required
Analytics Aggregate page view data via Google Analytics Up to 2 years Yes — see below
Advertising Non-personalised ads via Google AdSense Up to 1 year Yes — see below
Preferences Remembers your cookie consent choice 1 year No — functional

Managing cookies: You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Note that disabling essential cookies may affect basic site functionality. For analytics and advertising cookies, you can also opt out via the links in Sections 5 and 6.

For full information about cookies and how to manage them, visit aboutcookies.org or the ICO's guidance at ico.org.uk.

5. Advertising

KKJTech is free to use and will remain free. To sustain server, domain, and development costs, we display a small number of advertisements via Google AdSense. These are non-intrusive and never interfere with tool functionality.

Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to display ads that are relevant to you based on your browsing history. Importantly:

  • We have configured AdSense to serve non-personalised ads by default where we have control, reducing the data used for ad targeting
  • KKJTech does not pass any information from your tool usage (files, calculator inputs, etc.) to Google AdSense — this data never reaches our server
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers under any circumstances
  • Ad revenue funds the platform — it does not fund collection of your personal data

To opt out of Google personalised advertising, visit Google Ads Settings or use the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out tool.

6. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use KKJTech. This helps us identify popular tools, fix usability problems, and prioritise new features. Google Analytics collects aggregated, anonymised information — not personally identifiable data.

The data collected through GA4 includes:

  • Pages viewed and time spent on each page
  • Country and city-level geographic region (not precise location)
  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • How you arrived at our site (search engine, direct, referral)
  • Events such as button clicks and tool usage counts (no file content is ever captured)

We have enabled IP anonymisation in Google Analytics, meaning the last portion of your IP address is masked before any data is stored by Google. We do not use GA4's User ID feature or link analytics to any individual identity.

To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

7. Third-Party Services

KKJTech loads resources from a small number of trusted third-party providers to deliver the site. These are limited to:

KKJTech does not use social media trackers, Facebook Pixel, affiliate tracking systems, or any other third-party data collection beyond those listed above. We do not share personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.

No affiliation disclaimer: KKJTech is an independent platform with no affiliation with the UK Ministry of Defence, Veterans UK, HMRC, or any UK Government department. References to official schemes (e.g. AFPS 15) use publicly available documentation for informational purposes only.

8. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights in relation to any personal data we hold about you:

  • Right of access — You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you (e.g. contact enquiry records)
  • Right to rectification — You can ask us to correct inaccurate personal data we hold
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — You can ask us to delete your personal data where there is no compelling reason for us to retain it
  • Right to restrict processing — You can ask us to restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances
  • Right to data portability — You can request your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format
  • Right to object — You can object to processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests as our lawful basis
  • Rights related to automated decision-making — KKJTech does not engage in automated decision-making or profiling that significantly affects individuals

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via our Contact page. We will respond within 30 days in line with UK GDPR requirements. We will never charge a fee for legitimate requests.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

9. Children's Privacy

KKJTech Multi Tools Hub is a general-audience website intended for use by adults and students aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13.

Because our tools do not require user accounts or the submission of personal information to function, the risk of inadvertent data collection from younger users is inherently low. However, if you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has submitted personal information to us (e.g. via our contact form), please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete that information.

10. Data Security

We take the security of any data we hold seriously. Our security measures include:

  • HTTPS everywhere — All pages on tools.kkjtech.com are served exclusively over HTTPS with TLS encryption, preventing interception of data in transit
  • No sensitive data storage — Since our tools process data client-side, we do not store sensitive documents or personal inputs on any server
  • Access control — Administrative access to our hosting and analytics is restricted to authorised team members and protected with strong authentication
  • Regular reviews — We periodically review our privacy practices, data flows, and third-party integrations to ensure ongoing compliance

While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we commit to notifying affected users promptly in the unlikely event of a data breach involving personal data we hold, in accordance with UK GDPR requirements (within 72 hours of becoming aware).

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, new legal requirements, or improvements to our service. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, display a notice on the site.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of KKJTech Multi Tools Hub after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Previous versions of this policy can be requested by contacting us via the Contact page.

12. Contact Us
